Hi everybody!
Welcome to my hair journey! In this blog I hope to inspire, educate and foster appreciation and self awareness to the masses, as it relates to the hair of people from African descent. I have been natural for five years, sisterlocked for three years and loving every minute of it!
This might sound strange, but I've never appreciated or understood my hair until I decided to embark on this journey where I've learnt so much about myself and my history. It has instilled in me a sense of pride in a world where so many black women have been brainwashed into embracing the misconception that the hair that grows out of their scalp...the hair that they try so hard to hide with perms, weave, braids, wigs etc. is not 'good hair'.
Understanding your hair opens up a new self awareness, encouraging a more proud and confident you...
